"The Bride Comes to Yellow Sky" by Stephen Crane. Presented in three parts. I have chosen to present the second section (the saloon scene) first, because this section would serve as a great introductory segment, bringing the audience immediately into the action -- whereas the original first section is somewhat slow-moving. Purists who want to listen to the story in the original order are advised to wait for the next installment (to be uploaded in a few days) and reverse Parts 1 and 2.
FYI, Yellow Sky is the name of a town in Texas. There will be a mad-drunk gunman, and a town marshal who just got married elsewhere and is briniging his bride to town by train. You'd probably reckon there'd be some good shootin', but I won't spoil it for ya. All the same, I imagine this is a rare Wild West story that counts as literature.
